The story of the Lulur takes us back to the palaces of Central Java in the 17th century. This tradition originated and was reserved exclusively for princesses as a fundamental part of their wedding preparations.

ORIGIN AND TRADITION

During the 40 days prior to her wedding, the princess was pampered daily with a complete ritual of massages, lulur paste and floral baths; her goal was a complete transformation: to ensure that her body, mind and soul would arrive at the altar in perfect harmony, with beautiful, soft and exquisitely perfumed skin.

Over time, with the fall of the Majapahit kingdom and the migration of the Javanese to Bali, knowledge of Lulur spread and became integrated into Balinese tradition. At Jamu Rituals Spa, we have rescued the essence of this ancient tradition to offer it to you in its purest and most luxurious form.
